365 Self-Portrait Project (week 16)

Last week was pretty stressful for me.

Last Friday I had my stitches removed and the same day we were told our Little Sleeping Beauty is loosing too much weight. It made the post-pregnant and still very emotional myself very upset. Today everything is back to normal and we are all happy again 🙂

On Saturday while trying to take some shots I had to deal with my daughter running back and forth in front of the camera. This is the best shot I ended up with. Pretty much the perfect shot for Urban Muser’s theme for this month: “shake it out” 😉

I love my camera. Can you tell.

I have more shots from this “session” that I plan to put together as one separate post. I probably will write it sometime this week.

Most of my self-portraits are very spontaneous. I do not think about them. I just go with my day as it comes and in a particular moment when I remember about this project or when I think I’m doing something that’s worth to be captured I just take my camera and shoot.

Sometimes when I’m totally out of ideas I take the camera, point it at myself and start shooting until I get something that’s interesting or until I get tired 🙂

Enjoying our quiet time.

It’s crazy how our Little Not Eating Enough Girl in one week has turned into Not Wanting to Sleep and Eating Every 10 minutes. Today I can’t have anything done without me holding her while:

making breakfast,

doing laundry,

or simply hearing her screaming for some attention or my boob 😉

Better this than me trying to wake her up for every feeding with no success and her loosing weight because of that.

We’re having pretty nice weather lately and I try to sit on the sun from time to time to give some vitamin D to our newborn who still has some jaundice.

Watching cartoons, “Cat in the Hat”, and eating breakfast: avocado-dates-peanut butter pudding.

For quite sometime I had planned to avoid shots where my stomach is shown.

Then I thought: That’s ridiculous! I just had a baby so why should I be ashamed of my body. There is nothing wrong with it.

btw, I was making delicious apple cupcakes

Not the best but pretty good 🙂

This should be called “The things I never wear”.

It’s been SOOOOOOOOOOOOO long I had some nice necklace or a nice high heel shoes on me.

I actually do not wear hight heels but I have a few pairs, just in case.

In The Picture

Me, Myself and I

Here I am: a full month of self-portraits behind me. At some point I feel overwhelmed knowing that it’s ONLY a month and there is 11 more to go. The last two weeks were really hard with almost no inspirations or energy to think about creative shots. Oh well I did it anyway and I’m proud of myself (so far).

February theme for {In The Picture} – self-portrait project hosted by Urban Muser is “write on” so this is one of my interpretations.

At the park staring at the sky and watching my daughter and my husband having fun.

because while I was being lazy pointing my big belly up to the sky my family was doing this:

It just happened unexpectedly: while I was holding the camera in my hand my Little One had a breakdown and she needed a hug really bad. Snap, snap and I was done with my self-portrait for the day. I like when it happens so easy.

Ok, that is a weird picture. I mean, it’s a weird me in this picture, especially that look. I think I was checking if my camera is working and while I was checking it snapped. ugh…

And yes, I tried to take a few more without that look but they came out much worse so I had to go with this one, explaining to myself: it’s not THAT bad after all.

I finally used tripod and I don’t know why I don’t use it more often. It’s so much easier with it. It would be even easier if I had the remote, but so far I need to get creative with what I have.

It’s getting warmer and warmer every day, but my feet are still cold like ice so even in a warm sunny day I like to have my socks on.

There was no more editing to this photo than color adjustment only. It was taken on our patio while my daughter was messing around with some brums and pots and I was sitting on the bench holding a piece of a broken mirror in front of me. This is my favorite photo from this week collection.

Have a great weekend, Everyone!

Self-portrait 365 Project (part 3)

Small changes in my schedule.

So far I’ve posted my self-portraits on Sunday, but I changed my mind. First of all because I do not like to blog on weekends. In addition, in the past if I posted something on Sunday it was only for Ashley “Scavenger Hunt”. I’m am not every week participant in her link-up but if I do decide to do that I do not want to end up with two posts in one day.

The main reason I do this project is because I was inspired by Urban Muser’s project {in the picture}. Her link-up opens every last Friday of the month so from now on I’ll stick with Fridays to post my selfies. In meantime I do post a few selfies on my flickr as well.

My previous self-portraits:

1) 1-10/365

2) 11-17 /365

Now lets move to this week shots:

My every hour or so routine: washing my face with cold water. It helps me with my hot flashes through the day.

Laundry day. Don’t have to explain much just that our laundry room is a great place to take pictures in. It’s not pretty not to mention very clean (with all the people using it) but the light inside is just beautiful. If I could move out all those driers and laundry machines it would be the perfect room for a photography studio!

My daughter didn’t want to cooperate with this shot. She thought we are playing and every time I have my camera near her she wants to touch it and play with it, so instead of sitting still she moves towards me. It’s really hard to take a sharp picture of any part of her body at this point, but I did it after 20 very blurry shots.

In my opinion this is the weirdest shot of me I’ve taken so far. I can’t explain it. I just look so different in it… and those eyes. Eyes on this picture are the main reason I’ve decided to use this photo.

When I saw this picture on my camera screen I planned to crop it so my daughter is not on it. When I saw it again on my computer screen I really liked it the way it was.

In The Picture

Right now I’m happy that I’m done shooting myself for today. It’s pretty warm outside so I probably should take my lazy pregnant butt (and the baby… and a dog) for a walk.

Hope everything is ok with you all. Have a great weekend. I can’t wait for my Sunday walk with a coffee (one cup per week) and a doughnut in our local “Happy-Doughnut” coffee shop 🙂

My twist on 365 Project

At the beginning of this year I joined a self-portrait project hosted by Urban Muser – “In the Picture”. To make my life more complicated (because it’s actually not that complicated, anymore) and harder, I’ve decided that my number of self-portraits is 365.

I’ll be posting my pictures once a week, on Sunday.

This blog actually started because of 365 project. The project didn’t last long but I still blog so I succeed at some point. Right?

Today I’ve got more than 7 pictures because I didn’t post anything last Sunday. I just wasn’t sure if I really should do that. I’m still not sure. It’s easy now, but I know it’s not going to be in a few months after our second Little One appears and I’ll be tired and tired and even more tired and the last thing I’m going to think of is taking self-portraits. Until, I’ll try to stick to my plan and not to think about excuses.

Lets start then:

I actually have no idea how I’m going to come up with 365 photos of myself. I barely started it and I’m already complaining. Bear with me, though 🙂
