Cocoa Butter Coffee body lotion, once again.

Here I am… Again with my coffee body lotion. I love this lotion so much that I think I will never stop making it. The last few times I’ve used cocoa butter with it, and it’s even better that my “only coffee” lotions.

I can’t say I didn’t like my last creation – oatmeal cocoa butter honey milk body lotion. I just didn’t like it as much as my coffee lotion, and it was more time-consuming to make it.

This one is super easy and fast to make, and it smells heavenly!

Over a double bath melt together:

1/2 cup emulsifying wax (IT CAN NOT BE SUBSTITUTED WITH BEES WAX)

1/2 cup cocoa butter

1/2 cup oil (this time I used only olive oil)

(do not allow the mixture to boil)

brew some coffee

1 1/2 cup for the lotion and

1 cup to enjoy it yourself

When the oil-wax-cocoa butter mixture is melted mix it in a glass jar with 1 1/2 cup of hot coffee. Both liquids need to be hot.

Use a blender to do that if you don’t want to spent the next hour stirring the mixture every 5 minutes. It will cool down and thicken much faster but you will have more to clean. I always mix the lotion in the same jar in which I store it. It’s very convenient for me.

If you choose the way I make it (without blender) you need to stir it every few minutes because the coffee is separating from the rest of the mixture on the bottom of the jar…

…and it looks just like on the picture below:

When the mixture is almost cold you can add essential oils (or fragrance oils). For more coffee smell and caffeine properties you can add coffee essential oil. In my case I added about 15 drops of sweet orange, 15 drops of grapefruit essential oils and 10 drops amber rose fragrance oil (for more sweet smell).

in my lotions I never forget to add some vitamin E. Poke it with a sharp knife and squeeze the liquid out. Use as many as you wish.

Stir it well with a spoon and enjoy:

For those who don’t like coffee or coffee smell or just don’t want to use coffee (for another reason): you can brew 1 1/2 cups of green, mint, peppermint tea or just use plain hot water. In my previous lotions I’ve used fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. It worked great, too.

You can get creative and mix different liquids but do not use more than 1 1/2 cup of that mixture all together. The lotion won’t get creamy and thick enough. I’ve done that before 😦

ah… and keep in the fridge!

* since I started making and using lotions with cocoa butter in them I noticed my stretching marks got smaller and almost invisible!!!

An Ordinary Day

A few days ago I took a bunch of random pictures. I didn’t notice it at first, but after I moved them on my computer they kind of shown our day. From the very beginning to almost the very end 🙂

Of course, almost all of them have our daughter as a focal point.

Of course, it starts with COFFEE.

The most important thing, not in my pictures but in my entire day, before anything and anybody else is… MY MORNING COFFEE!

Making it,

drinking it,

enjoying it.

Today the wake up call was about 7 am. I do not count the call at 3am (till about 5am).

Our daughter was awake for almost half of the night. She woke up sometime around 3 am, we watched Netflix to about 4:30am, then we put her down to bed but she wasn’t sleeping. I could hear here turning and “talking” and doing everything else, but not sleeping. She got up before 7am this morning. Where does that energy come from?! Gosh. I am exhausted.

After that few precious sips of warm coffee I’m ready to start the day. Lately I’ve discovered my daughter doesn’t like scramble eggs. I made it once, I made it twice, I made it more than three times. Every single time I ended up fixing her something else because she would throw the scramble eggs on the floor for the dog to enjoy it (not once, not twice, but every single time I’ve made it). At least I don’t have to clean that. Our breathing, four-leg vacuum cleaner is the best thing that could ever happen to frustrated mom, who is not only frustrated because her daughter doesn’t want to eat what she just made,  but because in addition the floor is one greasy, sticky, yellow mess. AGAIN [sigh!!!!!!] and… baby is still hungry and “think, think, think” what else to make for her!

Oh well. At least bread is my savior! When she doesn’t  want this or that she ALWAYS likes the bread… and I like that 😉

After we are done eating, cleaning, changing diapers, time to play under the table with full belly and happy face.

Playing time on the sofa while watching cartoons or whatever mom’s watching (lately Grey’s Anatomy on Netflix).

After that it’s a nap time.

Relaxed, full of energy, ready to play. She is back. Time to put away everything what I was doing before. She loves my yarn, and I hate when she tangles everything. YES, she does that, very often!!! So the conclusion is easy. I do not crochet while she is awake, but still, she always finds a way to get into it.

While she is busy drinking from her bottle I like to play with her feet, or massage her belly… or just cuddle with her.

Walk to the park and running around.

She loves the swing! And I love it, too, because when she is in the swing it means no running away baby which means  standing in peace, IN ONE PLACE, no running after the baby, one happy mom.

Sometimes we practice our swimming skills. She’s getting better and better every single time we go to the swimming pool… and every single time she’s loving it.

Dinner time, and of course bath or shower time. Watching tv time, buziak and night night time!  Ufff…

But before  buziak and  night, night  time it’s doggy’s time to eat… outside, of course. Baby just watches her through the door, drooling because of the dog’s food 😉 Yep, she likes dog’s food. We wouldn’t be feeding that four-leg vacuum of ours outside if there wasn’t need for that.

It’s so good to be a baby. Too bad we do not remember those trouble-free days. Too bad she won’t remember it. It’s such an amazing time in our lifehood. Don’t you think? Kids play, and eat, and play, end eat, and play, and so on! We should all be able to remember those days, just to have something to get back to in our adulthood.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday and more doves

My today’s Scavenger Hunt started very early. Sometime around 7am.

My husband was asleep (I wish I was too), and I didn’t want to disturb him walking around and taking pictures. It was too dark in there to take any good picture anyway! So this is how our bedroom looks from the outside 😉

1. Bedroom

2. High Key (our clay pots which we bought from estate sale two days ago)

3. Something Tiny (a little bee on my coffee cup)

4. Off in the distance

… and as I promised:

more doves…

everyday something new

yesterday I was able to take a few shots withouth the parent sitting on them 🙂

aren’t they cute!?!

For the last few days those birds have been my best entertainment. I peek through the window checking on them, watching them, trying to catch a simple moment of something that they do, something new. It’s so amazing!

Lately they became more curious and not so scared anymore. While the parents are gone those two cuties still trying to be invisible and silent, but they stick they heads out from that pot more often.

ah… and me and my falling apart wall art. I’ll take care of it after the doves are gone.

Have a great Sunday, everybody!!!
