“Meow” means Kitty – and the story behind it

Cat the Stranger – that’s how I call him. Homeless or just lost. Who knows. He looks like he’s been shaved by some kids just for fun. My husband says he looks normal. I mean, that the haircut looks normal. I don’t think so. He acts like he used to be domestic.

The first time I saw his walking towards me I ran, scared, back to our apartment. He looked so wild. He was waving his tail and meowing SO LOUD. After a while I got used to him and I let him get closer. I have no idea if he carriers some diseases so I won’t let my daughter to touch him or get very close. He is very friendly guy. It’s been about 3 days since we first heard him. He comes around our door about dinner time. Our daughter gets so excited when she sees him ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks to that kitty she finally understood that when we say: “meow” it means “kitty”. I’ve gone through books with her pointing and cats, and saying “meow” every single time, but yesterday when she saw that cat and heard him you could see that “I GOT IT” face! It was sooo funny! Now she says “meow” every single time she sees a picture of a cat.

It’s really great to be able to witness all those little steps she takes to understand the world around her. It’s even more beautiful to observe how she does that, what helps her, and when it happens!

I am not a cat person. If I was that cat would’ve been ours already. I like cats but I hate that they need that litter stuff, and they poop at the house, and that they aren’t so lovey dovey… which for me is the main point you have a pet at the house ๐Ÿ™‚ On the other hand I don’t want him to go to a shelter where he might go pretty soon if he won’t go away. He looks so cute and friendly… and… so neglected. I wish I could do something for him…. .

Recollections of hiking in the mud

On the weekends we always try to go out and do something fun. It doesn’t work every single time… but we try. There are so many beautiful parks, and reservoirs around us that actually we have to try very hard not to find any interesting place to go out to ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sometimes going out is a necessity for us… for me… . It keeps me healthy… Mentaly healthy.

So… the last time it had been raining we couldn’t go out for a few days. The “indoor time” reached my endurance limit… . The next minut it stopped raining we left the house. Not thinking I picked the place. We got there, and it occured to us that around us we have only hiking trials… and MUD… We drove there for about 30 minutes so it would be silly to just pack up and leave… Right?!

We walked for about 15 mitnutes and we got to this open space with an amazing view!

We spent there about 20 minutes and through the mud… we walked back to the truck.

On the road, driving back we saw a deer on the one side of the road. When she saw us, she jumped deeper to the woods and from a safe distance she stared at use… while snacking on the grass.

Despite the mud our trip was great, I would say! The weather was beautiful that day. The air was clear and it was great to walk around. I know that we would’ve spent more time over there but our Miss Getting Heavier was getting ants in her pants while in the babybjorn. My husband didn’t have his hiking boots ( I DID ๐Ÿ™‚ ) , and he was getting tired of carying that extra 30 pounds on him. Anyway it was great to get out of the house and to breath in that fresh air.

It happend more than a week ago, so today having that 80 F temperature outside I am not thinking about getting outside for a hiking… The furthest I’d like to go is to the swimming pool and back ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a great day, everybody!

Survival of the fittest… (wordless(ish) Wednesday)

So, I just want to let you know, that today’s post is sponsored by the word “Wendsday”ย  or “Wednesday” or “Wedensday”.

it’s the next word from the list of “don’t be surprise if I miss spell it every time I write it” along with “think – instead of thing (and vice versa), now – instead of know (and vice versa)… and so on.

btw, I know that I misspell much more words that I think I do… but I’ve got a list of words that I write wrong constantly… I know I know, I should use the “check spelling” option but… I just don’t want to. Too proud for that I guess, or too lazy… or just don’t want to know how many mistakes I made ๐Ÿ˜‰

anyway, I didn’t know what to write about today, and do not have new pictures. I’m kind of exhausted after last Sunday and days of editing my pictures from celebration of the beatification of Pope John Paul II. I’m not done with them, yet, but I need a break. I promised myself a day with a book today, and so far I haven’t read a page… and it’s 3:30pm. Time to start cooking something. Grrr… So lazy today.

So, those pictures are kind of old. I would say, they were born last Saturday. Enjoy.

Picture {Perfect}

This is my second attempt to grow an avocado. Last year it died for some reason, and I really don’t know why. This year I’ll pay more attention.

And be careful those pictures below might my a little disturbing.

Tasting a raw squash

actually it wasn’t even a fight… Ewelina decided that she want to try a raw squash.
First of all the squash was a little bit too heavy for her, so she lost interest over it very quickly.
It was too hard for her, too!

but she couldn’t say, she didn’t try. Right? From what I’ve noticed she preferes potatoes! ๐Ÿ˜‰
I don’t let her eat them raw but she can play with it pushing it around the kitchen’s floor.
From what I know raw potatoes are very unsafe for human’s stomach. They can make you VERY sick.
I remember when I was in fourth or fifth grade my friends used to eat them just to get sick so they wouldn’t have to go to school. I tried it too, but I accomplished nothing. I ate raw, very starchy and aweful in taste potatoes, and still had to go to school. It was very unpalatable lesson ๐Ÿ˜‰

ok, back to my kitchen’s floor!
From the time she started playing with it, our doggy started behaving very strange. She was watching our Little Turtle very carefuly, and her eyes were focused on the squash for the entire time

When Little Miss Poopy Pants was done with the squash Di looked around saw me watching her… and… she actually did nothing… just moved a little bit closer to the squash, like I wouldn’t be able to see what her plan is ๐Ÿ˜‰
Dogs! they think they are so smart! Don’t they!

She had lain there for a minute or so, and then it started!!!
Even Poopy Pants was surprised.lol

She moved quickly

just to see that it’s the same squash that she had had before the doggy got into it… and she went away…

That’s my today’s story that had happend yesterday!

Hugs from my corner!

Going to Heaven!
I don’t know when —
Pray do not ask me how!

Indeed I’m too astonished
To think of answering you!
Going to Heaven!
How dim it sounds!

And yet it will be done
As sure as flocks go home at night
Unto the Shepherd’s arm!

Perhaps you’re going too!
Who knows?

If you should get there first
Save just a little space for me
Close to the two I lost —

The smallest “Robe” will fit me
And just a bit of “Crown” —
For you know we do not mind our dress
When we are going home —

I’m glad I don’t believe it
For it would stop my breath —

And I’d like to look a little more
At such a curious Earth!

I’m glad they did believe it
Whom I have never found
Since the might Autumn afternoon
I left them in the ground.

The very new teeth… two of ’em

I’d taken something around 3 dozens of photos of Ewelina’s face, lips, nose, chin, tongue… everything trying to capture her two growing teeth…

This is what I got:

She had a small break down in the middle of our session ๐Ÿ™‚
It didn’t last long…, and doggy didn’t care about it too much. Di was happy she could cuddle with somebody for a while…, and it didn’t matter if that somebody is screaming her head off…

I got him-the humming bird !!!

Finally, after months of having the humming bird feeder on my patio I’d had the time (mostly patience) to sit with a camera in my hands, and wait, wait, wait… and… wait… ๐Ÿ™‚

I expected it not to be very easy mission, but… that hard… Really?! These crazy birds are…hm… crazy! It’s some kind of higher level of photography to take a decent shot of ’em.

I guess one of the main reasons I couldn’t capture these birds is Me. My presence on the patio. A few times I saw, and heard them coming, had my camera ready, and… about 5 inches from the feered they would stop, and I swear, they would look at me like: what the hell is that?!?!?, and they would take off without even touching the feeder.

Today I was more patient, and took better pictures, and the hummings weren’t so afraid of me anymore ๐Ÿ™‚ like they get used to me being there… It was really cool, to be able to watch them so close ๐Ÿ™‚
I’ll post pictures from today later.
This one is from yesterday.
