365 Self-Portrait Project (week 30th)

Short intro to this post:

Our No.1 is in the “terrible two” stage and she looks just like that:

ALL THE TIME.

Day and Night.

No. 2, even though she looks very happy and content here:

isn’t any better, actually.

Mornings are the best for us.  She is mostly happy but when we get to about 12pm the fun part begins. The only way to make her happy is to put boob in her mouth. It works every single time. It means she is tied to me for the rest of the day, till about 11pm when she finally falls asleep for more than 30 minutes. And when she finally  goes to bed I lay in mine, and instead of sleeping, I just lay there… thinking…

Speaking about thinking; this project is getting harder and harder each week. I do want to keep it in this “family journal” theme but I’m running out of ideas. With each passing day in order to keep it interesting with not only feet, hands and from arm’s length face shots, I need to think more about what I’m going to do, and sometimes feet, hands and from arm’s length face shots are what I end up with😉

Don’t judge one by ones patio😉

It’s a mess and I struggle to find an extra energy to make it look nice.

365/205

I got a little creative here.

At first I had some troubles with the right focus but finally when I placed myself in the right spot it was nothing but relaxing fun🙂

365/206

I desperately need a change.

I crave it like a dry plant water… .

I should star with a new hair cut, I guess.

One of those “arm’s length” shots.

My morning shot of energy. Physical, as well as mental energy. Too bad I can’t drink more than one cup.

Who would like to breastfeed for me, so I could drink more than 2… hm… 3… hmm… 3 1/2 cups of my dear ambrosia… ?!!!

Anybody?!!! Pleeeaaaaaseeee!

365/209

trying to create something totally different I ended up with this .gif . Not really what I had in my mind but it’ll do for now.

That’s exactly how I feel!- Like I am going crazy!

btw, who knows a good way to get rid of dark circles under eyes… ?

Oh… wait… I know one. It is called “sleep”.

Hope you guys are feeling more sane than I am.

    1. thank you, Tamara. She is getting big… and heavy… and really loud… and so curious about everything what’s around here… she ever rolled over a few times but it was more by accident than her own hard work .lol

  1. Sleep…that’s a good one. I just had my first cup of caffeinated tea yesterday, and I got the worst caffeine headache, though now, as I drink herbal tea, kind of long for that wired yet awake feeling, rather than tired.

    1. in my case coffee helps with headaches very often. my dad used to have terrible headaches and the only way to cure it was to drink a cup of coffee🙂
It looks like I am the same way.
I just had my cup of coffee as well but today it is not working… I guess I am too tired. Need to boost myself with green tea.

  2. There are sooo many photos here to inspire.
Like the double reflection on the porch
    and the multiple exposure one.
You may think you are running out of self-portrait ideas,
but you keep posting lots of different ones.

    Some non-photo comments:
the 2 year old…this phase will pass, it just seems like forever.
the .gif. did nothing when I clicked on it.
if your headaches are migrane-like (sinus pressure mimics these),
you may want to try cutting back on carbs.
I had these headaches for 40+ years.
I was told they might cease after menopause; they didn’t.
But when I cut back on carbs (less than 50 a day), they disappeared.
An unexpected and joyous side effect for trying
to reduce my cholesterol and blood pressure (which did happen).
And the headaches have been gone for a year and a half.
With just two exceptions…both when I over-ate carbs during a week.
Now, I can’t imagine eating any other way🙂

    1. Deb, thank you for pointing it out about the gif. I just changed it. I gave me nothing but troubles since I first started working with this idea of mine😉
Anyway, thank you for your thoughtful comments. I do not eat a lot of carbs. Sometimes I bake with white flour but most of the time I make whole wheat breads, buns and pancakes, as well as cakes. I use a lot of veggies and fruits in my diet and do not drink juices (at all). I do not eat potatoes (maybe once or twice a month). My husband says that I don’t drink enough of water and that is the main problem of my headaches.

  3. Aren’t the terrible twos fun?? Your photos are always filled with great ideas… so don’t think you have run out of ideas yet. Your work is always very unique. The time of life with little ones can be very trying. Hope you have made some mommy alone time as that can keep you from going bananas. When I had my second child, I decided to be a stay at home mom, but shortly, found that it was better for me if I worked one or two days a week, which was available to me as a nurse. That really helped. Could still spend a bit of time being a “grown up” and interacting with interesting people, but also, being away a bit really helped me enjoy my kids more. They do up though, and it will happen faster than you think. Good luck to you

  4. I love the gif! It’s like watching a movie!! Your posts are always so real and make me feel so much better. I love your honesty. I know I owe you an email. This week is the first week I’ve felt good enough to get back on the computer. Things are a bit better.🙂
And your creativity never fails to inspire me.
A big thank you and a bigger hug. I miss coffee too….

  5. Love, love to see what you do each week – and Love the ones with lipstick in the mirror. I had a baby when my oldest was 2 years and 4 months, it will get better and then….it’s just always different, always changing (and challenging). I can’t say that it ever gets easier, cause then they are old enough to drive and you still don’t get any sleep! lol Hang in there!!

  6. So many great shots and reflections about your current circumstances. You are doing such a great job – as a Mom and as a documenter of days. Such a treat to have you share your work with Photo Art Friday. (P.S. If you are willing, I would love to know your first name so that I can address you more personally.)

    1. Bonnie, my name is Ewa (pronounced similar to Eva).
Thank you for your great and supporting comment. You’ve inspired me to take this project to a different level many times. I thank you for that!

  7. Great collection of self portraits – interesting new angles🙂 My favourite is the door/self portrait collage 204. Thanks for visiting🙂

  8. Well even though you may be tiring of this project it has certainly been interesting to view and read about. I like the Reflection Shot, The Liquid Motivation Shot and that little Montage of photo’s. Your girls are growing so quickly.

  9. Gosh, I remember that lack of sleep. Now I can’t sleep because I’m getting into menopause… (and at the same time my daughter is smack in her teenage years – there are kust too many hormones gone crazy in this house).
Your reflection photos are gorgeous, I love them – and your sense of humor. Please keep that – it will carry you through those crazy times – and it will get better, I promise.

  10. Every time I visit I am struck by your photos – I find them to be incredibly beautiful in their honesty. Truly! I love them. Your patio photo is amazing! I feel so much sympathy for your Mom exhaustion…and I remember the constant breast feeding. Oh, how I remember! This too shall pass…not that it makes it any easier while living it! Thanks so much for sharing your everyday moments – they are wonderful to see.

  11. I love all your pictures they are amazing you are so talented. The one with your picture in both mirrors is awonderful idea, thank you for linknig up to welcome to the weekend hop🙂

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you like what you see and read (not always in proper English, though). Feel free to leave a comment love and don't forget to check it back and keep the discussion going
