Don’t talk to me until my second cup…

… of coffee!!!

Finlay I got a coffee maker with all bunch of extra stuff. Happy Happy Happy mamma!
I’m not afraid of very early mornings and sleepless nights, anymore! No, No, No! I’m ready and prepared!

My Lovely Husband despite of the argument that he had with Gevalia’s employee on the phone decided to get me a coffee set that I found on promotion for a few bucks.
I mean I’ve decided that I want it. He decided that no matter what he’s going to get it for me. Too bad he got so upset with them while ordering it.

I’ve never had Gevalia before, so I’m eager to try it. I’m not very picky when it comes to coffee. I like it black, and strong. No sugar. For the entire period of my pregnancy I hadn’t been drinking coffee, not because I didn’t want to but because I’d stopped liking it. My body just said NO NO NO to coffee… Just like that. Some day I woke up made myself a cup of coffee took one sip and right away I knew something is wrong. I thought that maybe my coffee is old, or I did something wrong while brewing it… I didn’t know, and I didn’t have my coffee that day. The next day was the same and the day after that.
Few days after…. Surprise!!! “We are going to have a baby!”

So, after our Little Poopy Pants was born I hadn’t been drinking because I just didn’t want the coffeen to get to hers body but after months of sleepless nights I’d decided that one cup is not gonna hurt anybody, and I’ve decided that I’m not going to feel bad about it. I mean about drinking one cup of coffee… Some women drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes while breastfeeding… I do not do any of that stuff. So why not a small cup of coffee… ?!?

  1. I drink coffee as well while nursing. Don’t feel bad. It’s only something to feel bad about if you aren’t drinking enough water and drinking more than one cup of coffee and baby starts seeming hyper or irritable. Heck, my ped told me to drink a glass of wine when baby is teething or having problems sleeping through the night, right before bedtime. He said that not enough alcohol gets to her if it is a small glass, just that I finally relax enough to release some sort of hormone that is a sleep hormone. Enjoy!
Btw, did you take that picture yourself? Beautiful!

    1. I have nothing agains one or two glasses of wine! I would’ve done the same but I don’t drink.
Speaking about baby having problems with sleeping…
My mom told me a story once. Her mom (my grandmother) had terrible problem with my mom’s sister. She didn’t want to sleep at all. She was crying and crying and crying. So one woman from the village (imagine early ’50 in Poland) told her to brew some poppy seeds and give it to the kid… So my gramma did it. My little aunty was simply drugged and she slept for 3 days. My granmom thought she killed her! Good Lord ! She was terrified! She never had done that again and she stayed away from poppy seeds for the rest of her life!

  2. I so need that cup! I tell my kids that constantly, just wish they would hear me! When I was pregnant with my first child I was a freak about caffeine and never had any. On to my second child most definitely had caffeine and didn’t worry about breastfeeding! She did fine and frankly it was my sanity at that point that was more important. I mean I was dealing with a newborn, a 4 year old, a dog and a new city! I was pretty much crazy!

    1. I hear you! We moved a week after our daughter was born. I was in terrible shape (I had casearean section), in pain, and tired all the time. I had to clean, and take care of everything… I just couldn’t get up without coffee. Our daughter still doesn’t sleep through the night, and she gets up very early. Ah coffeen 😉

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you like what you see and read (not always in proper English, though). Feel free to leave a comment love and don't forget to check it back and keep the discussion going
